growing light

2012 is proving to be an interesting year for this little carrot with some old gigs and a few new gigs thrown in to keep things interesting!

The beginning of the year saw much beauty and joy with being involved in the Farewell Ceremony at Woodford Folk Festival.

Lanterns took a back seat during January/February while I worked in a vintage converted caravan bar at Fringeworld (Perth Fringe Festival) in addition to doing some bump in work.

March rolled around quickly as I worked as the Parade Assistant for Joondalup Street Parade.

April came and so did Fairbridge Folk Festival, one of my favourites on the WA festival circuit.

June peeked it’s head round the corner and I jumped on a plane to Lismore, NSW for Lismore Lantern Parade which is where my lantern odyssey began in 2004. Gilbert the Gorilla proved to be a crowd pleaser with young and old.

July tells an epic story of back to back gigs in Tom Price that stretch into mid August. The first being a school holiday residency using recycled materials for the Awesome Festival and the other being a residency making Lanterns with local school children for the Jarndunmunha Nameless Festival Opening.
