A West Australian based, free range artist and arts facilitator. With more than eight years experience in community arts and festival work in a wide range of jobs. Bec is comfortable in facilitating and working in a wide range roles, from lead artist, to crew member, volunteer coordinator to stage management. She can work long hours and complicated briefs within teams or when set by herself.
After completing a Visual Arts degree in 2005, she spent several years working and learning with LightnUp, a Community Arts organization based in Lismore NSW, who specialise in large-scale outdoor lantern parades, fire events and celebration. In 2009 Bec relocated to Western Australia, where she has since set up her own business called Little Carrot Productions, and has worked on events such as Fairbridge Folk Festival, Joondalup Street Parade and The Keela Dreaming Festival as the Lead artist and set up crew, in amongst many other smaller community projects and events interstate. Recent event work includes being part of the build and bump out crew for Awesome Festival in Perth’s CBD and working on the production team for Woodford Folk Festival’s Farewell Ceremony.

In 2009, bec started her own freelance Arts Facilitation business. Since then regional residencies have included Desert Red Earth Arts Festival (Karratha), Keela Dreaming (Kellerberrin) and Ord Valley Muster (Kununurra). She has also constructed large parade puppets for Joondalup Street parade and created lantern parades with Fairbridge Folk Festival for three consecutive years. Artist/Facilitator – Core Crew, LightnUp, 2004 – 2009
Worked in varying capacities for five years with LightnUp, co creators of Lismore Lantern Parade. Roles have included Facilitator, Artist, Organiser, Performer, Supervisor/coordinating small groups, School Workshop program Coordinator (06/07) and Community Lantern Project Coordinator (08). This work led to liaising with a number of community members and groups including indigenous communities, youth, people with disabilities, environmental groups, sponsors and councillors to name a few. Geographically, this work led to travelling up and down the east coast of Australia to various festivals and communities, far north Queensland, western New South Wales, Tasmania, New Zealand and across Australia to Perth.

Began volunteer work at my local Red Cross Op Shop. Duties include stock rotation, customer relations, Eftpos systems and cash handling.
